Portfolio Managers Jonas Edholm and David Harris have been managing SKAGEN Focus since the fund was launched in 2015. Here pictured at the 2023 UK Lipper Award Ceremony.

SKAGEN Focus has won prestigious Lipper Fund Awards for outstanding fund performance. SKAGEN Focus, which invests predominantly in smaller companies, has been awarded best global equity small and mid-cap fund over five years in both Germany and the Nordics:

  • LSEG Lipper Fund Awards Germany 2024 Winner, SKAGEN Focus, Best Equity Global Small & Mid Cap Fund Over Five Years.
  • LSEG Lipper Fund Awards Nordics 2024 Winner, SKAGEN Focus, Best Equity Global Small & Mid Cap Fund Over Five Years.

The fund has been managed by Jonas Edholm and David Harris since its launch in 2015.

The LSEG Lipper Fund Awards recognise funds and fund management firms for their consistently strong risk-adjusted three, five, and ten-year returns relative to peers. Based on Lipper's quantitative methodology, the awards have provided an independent assessment of fund performance for over three decades.

Jonas Edholm, Lead Portfolio Manager, SKAGEN Focus, commented:

“Our recent awards demonstrate how parting from the crowd can produce outstanding results over time. This year we have won LSEG Lipper Fund Awards for best global small/mid-cap fund over five years in Germany and the Nordics, building on our success in 2023 when we won similar awards in the UK and Netherlands over three years. However, we believe the best is still to come as the recent equity rally broadens into ignored small and mid-cap stocks. It’s time to mine the gap.”

David Harris, Portfolio Manager, SKAGEN Focus, added:

“The cataclysmic events in the global equity market over the past five years have produced a volatile investment environment that has created very lucrative investment opportunities for those with a broad perspective, particularly contrarian and value-based investors like us.”

Tom Roseen, Principal, Lipper Global Research, LSEG Lipper, commented:

“The 2024 LSEG Lipper Fund Awards are recognizing perhaps the most dramatic period that the markets have seen in decades. Fund managers being recognised have steered their investors through a pandemic, a mild recession, a war, skyrocketing inflation and dramatic central bank intervention.

Whether you’ve been investing for just the past 15 years and have seen only the easy money environment following the Financial Crisis – or you’ve been an investor for 50 years and feel as if you’ve seen it all, there is no way to have foreseen the range of fundamental and non-financial factors that impacted the markets these past few years.

We applaud the 2024 LSEG Lipper Fund Award winners such as SKAGEN Focus for delivering outperformance and the accompanying comfort of consistency to investors’ portfolios through a cross-current of global market disruptions.”
