Hilde Jenssen will be speaking on "Emerging market investing in an era of rising populism"

As part of the official lecture program Head of Product Specialists Hilde Jenssen will be speaking in Hall 9 on Wednesday 25 at 17:55-18:25. The topic of Hilde's presentation is "Emerging market investing in an era of rising populism". Hilde will discuss how a more protectionist world can yield surprising investment opportunities for stock pickers in emerging markets (EM). In recent years emerging markets have been undergoing positive, fundamental change, and the recent rise in populism has been predominantly in developed markets (DM). Many Asian nations have long been more dependent on each other than on the US, so they are less vulnerable than assumed to potential US trade barriers. In the wake of Trump's election victory, the EM discount to DM has increased again despite signs of improving profitability in EM. All these factors means that the EM are looking very attractive as we enter 2017. But which EM companies should one invest in? In her presentation Hilde will discuss some of the EM companies and themes where SKAGEN sees the most potential.

We look forward to seeing you there!
